Mediation
You are involved in a conflict. When your disagreement has become a matter of winning or losing it could make sense to turn to a mediator.
A mediator is an independent professional who intervenes when parties strongly disagree.
He helps them to solve their conflict.
A mediator helps you to resume communications and facilitates negotiations in order to reach an agreement.
Mediation is different from legal procedures and arbitration. A mediator does not take a decision in your case nor does he give binding advice.
The mediator helps you to explore for yourself what is keeping you divided. At all times you stay in control of the way your conflict will be resolved.
This makes it easier to find resolutions that both parties can agree upon and to reach an outcome without losers.
Mediation is also quicker and cheaper than legal proceedings of which the outcome is never guaranteed.
Mediation is confidential and participation is always voluntary. You are free to halt the process at any time.
At the start of a mediation a Mediation Agreement is signed. Both parties and the mediator commit themselves to keep everything that will be said, discussed and proposed during the mediation confidential. Consequently you have all the freedom you need to search for ways to resolve your conflict. No suggestions or proposals are binding untill you have reached a final agreement.
